SBI PO - 21 June (Morning)

Hello all banking job aspirants,
I have recently given SBI PO exam on June 21 and would like to share the exam experience with all so that other someone might benefit from it. First of all my experience on SBI PO is, this is not really that difficult to crack, if you have a good preparation of 2 months, you can easily crack the exam, out of 4 sections I fund only one section difficult and that too because it was time consuming. More details below...............

English

This section was easy not much difficult, one can attend 25 questions easily in 20 mins easily (this does not include passage)
Ques were mostly like
- finding fault in the given sentences (some sentences were given and one was grametically incorrect you need to find which sentence was incorrect).
- 4 words were given which two are either similar or opposite.
- A passage is given and 8-10 blanks, you need to fill correct words in those blanks.

- A passage is given and 10-12 ques are asked on it.

Reasoning

Questions on machine input, syllogism, seating arrangement, questions like A<D=M>=V, etc.
Overall this section is easy and one can attempt 25 ques in around 20-25 min of time

GA

WHO recently declared India free of which disease - answer polio
On women's day, march 8, president presented which awards
Crimea recently merged to which country - Russia
Supreme court appointed Sunil Gavaskar as chairman of which organization - BCCI
best films at 2014 oscar - answer 12 year slave
Binary language consists of which digits -answer: 0s and 1s
Full form of MICR
Fault in programming is also known as - answer: bug
Full form of GUI - answer: Graphical User Interface
software that is free to everyone is known as- answer: shareware

I  found this section ok, not that difficult and not that easy, one can attend 20 questions correctly
It consists of questions from current affairs, banking awareness, computer and marketing. This section is bit different this time the questions from above mentioned areas are mixed, they aren't sequential. For ex. you will get 2-3 marketing questions then 2-3 computer questions then GK, then banking, etc. I would advise to go through all the questions because some of the questions from computer are very easy and sometimes they are placed at the end of section.

DI

Toughest of all and hence i think cut-off might be very low for DI. All types of diagrammatic; pie chart, bar graph, tabular format, statistical curve, etc. I could not attempt much; my advice, spare 50-60 mins for DI then only you could solve 25 ques. DI is both tough and time consuming and I think that can be done because rest of the 3 sections are quite easy. I personally could gather 40 mins for DI but since I'm not good in calculations, i could solve only 5-6 ques.

This ends the online test of 2 hours. Next is the descriptive test.

Descriptive

5 questions are given, 10 marks each. Time allocated for this section is 1 hours. THIS IS NOT ONLINE, you are given a paper which has questions and some space to answer those questions. You have complete your answer within the allocated space only, no extra sheets are provided, but don't worry, you can write sufficiently well in the allocated space.
  • Letter writing
3 options are given, 2 formal and 1 informal letter. I remember only 2:
a. Mr Piyush has applied for a bank loan of 26 lakhs, as a bank manager write a letter to Mr Piyush politely telling him that bank can only sanction loan of only 22 lakhs.
b. Write a letter to a friend describing the importance of Pension planning.
  • Paragraph Writing
3 topics are given and you need to write paragraph on any one. One of the topic was "I were an MP..."
  • Paragraph
A paragraph is given, you need to go through it and answer the questions. There are 5 ques each of 2 marks
  • Write title to passage
A passage is given you need to write suitable title and few lines on it.
  • Essay writing
3 topics are given, you need to choose one and write 250 words essay on it. One of the topic was 'Relevance of Swadeshi in globalised emerging market.'
